Caleb King added 40 yards to a rushing attack that accumulated 231 yards -- only 14 yards less than Vanderbilt's total offense.
"We all know what Knowshon can do and Caleb has been running the ball well all season," said Georgia head coach Mark Richt. "It's important to have a guy come off the bench who can be productive. We have full confidence in Caleb. We know we've got two guys who are ready to rock and roll."
Matthew Stafford completed 13-of-23 passes for 194 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Bulldogs (6-1, 3-1 SEC).
Mackenzi Adams threw for 131 yards on 16-of-32 passing with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Jamie Graham caught both touchdowns and Jared Hawkins added 63 yards on the ground for the Commodores (5-2, 3-2).
"This was a tough game and a tough place to play against a tough team," stated Vanderbilt head coach Bobby Johnson. "We gave them too many opportunities on offense, and we didn't make plays defensively."
After a Vanderbilt punt in the first quarter, Georgia moved into field goal range, but Blair Walsh hooked his 40-yard attempt.
Adams was intercepted on Vandy's next series, and the Bulldogs needed just four plays to find the end zone. The big play, a 49-yard toss to Green, preceded another connection with Green -- a 17-yard scoring play for the 7-0 lead.
Stafford went searching for more points early in the second, but he got greedy with a long toss to the end zone and it was intercepted at the Vanderbilt two- yard line by D.J. Moore. A battle of field position ensued before Adams was again intercepted, this time by Darius Dewberry at the Georgia 43-yard line.
Again, a Commodores turnover ended with Georgia points, as Stafford moved his offensive unit 57 yards to paydirt. Moreno ripped off large chunks of 15 and 18 yards on the ground and Stafford found Mohamed Massaquoi for a nine-yard touchdown and a 14-0 lead.
Vanderbilt's offense finally got moving late in the first half. Adams actually executed a pair of seven-yard rushes on the march, but his arm got the Commodores into the end zone. He found Sean Walker for seven yards to move the chains on third down deep in Georgia territory then zipped an 18-yard TD toss to Graham with 22 ticks to play.
The Bulldogs took the opening kickoff of the second half 75 yards on only six plays to regain their two-touchdown edge. Moreno sliced through the defense for 19 yards and the big-play receiver Green hauled in a 33-yard pass to the 11-yard line. After getting stuffed for no gain, Moreno bounced off a tackle and found the end zone for an 11-yard score and a 21-7 advantage.
Later in the period, Stafford tossed another interception, as Myron Lewis cut in front of a receiver at the Georgia 26-yard line. Each team continued the trend of capitalizing off turnovers as Adams completed a 15-yard pass to George Smith and an eight-yard touchdown to Graham, his second score of the contest, for a 21-14 score.
Walsh's 39-yard field goal with 17 seconds to play cemented the Bulldogs' victory.
"Vanderbilt came in here and gave us their best effort," said Massaquoi. "We made plays when we needed to."
Game Notes
Georgia won despite converting just 1-of-8 third-down changes. Vanderbilt was successful on 5-of-14 third downs...The Bulldogs racked up 425 total yards...Georgia leads the all-time series, 49-18-2.
