Ramsey carried the ball 12 times for 103 yards while Tony Pike went 23-for-42 with 270 yards, two scores and one pick for the Bearcats (5-0), who have taken the last four games against Miami-Ohio.
"I told our guys I'm pleased with the win, 37-13 over a Miami team that played real hard," said Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly. "Our kids played hard as well. I was pleased today with the effort we gave, but I was also not pleased with a lot of things. When you look at the game of football, you just try to keep winning. Today was not our 'A' game, not to take anything away from Miami because they played very well today."
Zac Dysert went 33-for-47 with 286 yards, a score and two picks while Andre Bratton had 11 catches for 90 yards and a score for the RedHawks (0-5), who have been beaten by double-digits in all their losses this season.
"I don't know if they did anything that contained me real well, but I wasn't getting away from them," said Dysert. "I probably stayed in the pocket to long. They were big and pretty strong so once they got me I wasn't getting away from them."
The "Battle for the Victory Bell" began in 1888 and is said to be the longest- lasting rivalry west of the Allegheny Mountains. It is also the oldest non- conference rivalry in the nation (FBS only), with Miami holding a 59-48-7 advantage in the rivalry.
On their second touch of the game, the Bearcats took the lead. Starting the drive at their own 14, Isaiah Pead got things started on the first play of the drive with a 21-yard run. Facing a 3rd-and-8, Pike moved the chains with a 12- yard pass to Armon Binns and converted two more third downs on the drive. Ramsey capped the drive with a four-yard run into the end zone. Jake Rogers missed the extra point and it was a 6-0 game with 4:12 left in the first.
On the last play of the first, Cincinnati scored again on a 4th-and-3 as Pike and Binns hooked up on a 35-yard score for a 13-0 lead.
The RedHawks went for a fake punt down deep in their own territory but Austin Moore was stopped and Cincinnati took over on the Miami-Ohio 27. Three plays later, Ramsey punched the ball in from eight yards out for a 20-0 lead with 12 1/2 minutes left in the second.
Miami-Ohio got on the board on its next touch as a 15-play drive that covered 82 yards was capped on a one-yard touchdown run by Thomas Merriweather that made it a 20-7 game with 4:21 left in the second.
Rogers' 42-yard field goal on the next drive gave Cincinnati a 23-7 lead going into the break.
The RedHawks got the only points of the third quarter as Dysert and Bratton connected on a 19-yard score, but Trevor Cook missed the extra point and it was a 23-13 game with five minutes left in the frame.
In the fourth, Cincinnati started a drive with the ball at the Miami-Ohio 45 and needed just four plays to pad their lead as Ramsey punched the ball into the end zone from two yards out for a 30-13 advantage with 11:35 to play.
Pike and Marshawn Gilyard hooked up for a 23-yard score with 8:12 to play to give the Bearcats a 37-13 lead.
