Robinson completed 14-of-25 attempts for 279 yards with one interception and also had a three-yard touchdown run for the Cowboys (4-1, 1-0 Big 12), who have won three games in a row since suffering their lone defeat against Houston.
Keith Toston rushed for 130 yards and made two grabs for 74 yards in the win.
"This is a good win for our team. I'm really proud of our guys. I thought in all three phases, there were big plays. Each of the phases contributed to the victory," said Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy.
Jerrod Johnson threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns on 22-of-42 efficiency for the Aggies (3-2, 0-1), who have lost two straight. Uzoma Nwachukwu led all receivers with 141 yards and a score on eight catches.
"Going into this game our guys had a great week of practice," said Texas A&M head coach Mike Sherman. "They worked really hard. We fully expected to win. We didn't, and that's really all that matters. Oklahoma State made more plays than we did to win the football game. That's the bottom line."
On their second drive of the game, the Cowboys took a gamble that didn't pay off. Facing a 4th-and-1 at the Texas A&M six-yard line, Robinson was bottled up for no gain.
The next time Oklahoma State got the ball, Robinson engineered a four-play, 49-yard drive that culminated in the game's first points. Following an incompletion, Robinson rushed for six yards before hooking up with Toston for a 40-yard toss. The Cowboys' signal-caller then used his legs to give the visitors an early lead, running into the end zone from the three.
Texas A&M marched deep into OSU territory in the early moments of the second quarter, but came away empty-handed when Randy Bullock missed a 32-yard field goal.
The Aggies broke through on their next offensive sequence as Jerrod Johnson threw a 28-yard strike to Nwachukwu. Texas A&M botched the snap on the extra- point try, but holder Ryan Tannehill managed to squeak into the end zone to put the home team on top, 8-7.
After the clubs exchanged turnovers, Jerrod Johnson found Jamie McCoy in the corner of the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown. OSU quickly answered when Hubert Anyiam hauled in a 27-yard touchdown pass with 4:52 remaining.
Texas A&M looked to increase its lead late in the second quarter, but was denied on 4th-and-goal from the one, and the Aggies took a 15-14 edge into the break.
On Oklahoma State's second offensive series of the third quarter, Robinson found Tracy Moore for a 51-yard catch-and-run down the far sideline to give the Cowboys a 21-15 lead.
Jerrod Johnson then led the Aggies on a 10-play, 63-yard drive that ended with a four-yard touchdown run by Christine Michael.
Oklahoma State countered two minutes later on Beau Johnson's one-yard plunge. A two-point conversion made it 29-22 in favor of the Cowboys.
On the first play of the fourth quarter, Bullock drilled a 50-yarder through the uprights. But Oklahoma State went on an epic 16-play, 93-yard drive that Beau Johnson finished off with a one-yard touchdown.
Howard Morrow's three-yard scoring reception trimmed the Aggies' deficit to 36-31 with 3:35 to play. Texas A&M decided to attempt the two-point conversion, but Jerrod Johnson's pass fell incomplete.
Oklahoma State ran out the remaining time, converting a critical fourth down along the way.
Game Notes
Cyrus Gray led the ground attack for Texas A&M with 49 yards on 16 carries...Morrow had 47 yards on four receptions...The Aggies still own a commanding 17-8 advantage in the all-time series with OSU...The Cowboys host Missouri next Saturday, while Texas A&M visits Kansas State.
