Jones threw for 252 yards with an interception on 26-for-38 passing while Brown had 22 carries for 66 yards for the Sooners (4-3, 2-1 Big 12), who bounced back from last week's 16-13 loss to Texas. That's when Heisman Trophy- winning quarterback Sam Bradford injured his throwing shoulder and he was kept out of Saturday's contest.
"I'm just really proud of our football team and the way they played against a very good Kansas team that's been playing well," said Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops. "They (Kansas) haven't lost many games here, so I'm proud of our guys to come here and play so well and have a great performance overall."
Todd Reesing was intercepted three times and went 22-for-44 with 224 yards and a rushing touchdown for the Jayhawks (5-2, 1-2), who have dropped their past two games.
Kansas started the game with the ball, but Reesing was picked off by Quinton Carter on the first play to give the Sooners the ball near midfield. It took the team 11 plays to get in the end zone as Brown's one-yard run up the middle gave the team a 7-0 lead.
The score remained that way until early in the second quarter. Kansas put together its best drive of the game and had a 1st-and-goal, but Reesing was picked off for the third time in the game and this one was taken the opposite way by Dominique Franks for 85 yards and a 14-0 Oklahoma lead.
"Certainly, the turnovers set the tempo of the game and put us in a hole early," said Kansas coach Mark Mangino. "We had to play catch-up football. We can't do that to ourselves. We've done it two weeks in a row, and it's not because of any ineptitude, but kids are just not making plays."
Late in the second, a 39-yard field goal from Jacob Branstetter with 2:03 to play got the Jayhawks on the board and, after Jones was picked off by Ryan Murphy, Branstetter made it a 14-6 game at the break on a career-high 57-yard field goal that made it just inside the right post and just barely crossed over the bar.
The Sooners began the third quarter with the ball and were able to pad their lead. On the ninth play of the drive, Jones hit Adron Tennell near the goal line and he took it easily into the end zone for a nine-yard score to cap the 75-yard drive for a 21-6 lead.
After Kansas was forced to punt, Oklahoma got the ball back at its own 30 and needed just seven plays to get into the end zone. On a 1st-and-goal at the eight-yard line, Kansas went offsides to give Oklahoma a free play and Jones tossed a soft pass to the right side for Brown, who went in untouched for a 28-6 lead with 6:18 to play in the third.
Late in the third the Jayhawks got within striking distance as a 32-yard catch-and-run from Johnathan Wilson got the ball across midfield, but the drive stalled there and the team had to punt the ball away.
Oklahoma sealed the win with its next touch as Brown punched the ball into the end zone on a 26-yard score for a 35-6 lead with just over 11 minutes to play.
The Jayhawks finally got the ball into the end zone with 4:27 left as Reesing took it himself to pay dirt from five yards out.
