Ed Wesley ran for 115 yards and a touchdown for the Horned Frogs (6-0, 2-0 MWC), who extended their regular-season winning streak to 19 games and their home winning streak to 17.
The victory was another blowout for TCU, which was coming off last week's 27-0 win at Colorado State. The Horned Frogs have an average margin of victory of 31.3 points this season.
"We seem to play faster at home," admitted TCU coach Gary Patterson. "The key will be when we go back on the road to see whether we'll play faster when we start in our next away game. We were fired up. I thought the heat made a big difference on Wyoming. They were trying to rotate and do some stuff. When you're not used to it and you come here in the high 80s and low 90s. We wore those guys down a little bit."
Wyoming was playing without quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels, who sat with an undisclosed injury. Dax Crum started in his place and threw for 116 yards on 11-of-17 passing for the Cowboys (2-4, 0-2), who defeated Toledo last weekend.
"I am pleased with the way he played today," Wyoming coach Dave Christensen said of Crum. "He managed the offense. The pick he had was when he was pressing when we were down a lot and in the red zone. I thought he executed the game plan and did what we asked him to do."
TCU dominated from the outset, scoring on its first five drives. After Wyoming punted on the game's opening possession, the Horned Frogs started at their own 10-yard line and reached the end zone in eight plays.
After Dalton ran for 14 yards to midfield to convert a third down, he connected with Jeremy Kerley on the next play for a 50-yard touchdown.
Another Cowboys punt led to another TCU score, as Antoine Hicks capped a 52- yard drive with a two-yard run across the goal line. The Horned Frogs' next possession bridged into the second quarter, but only barely. On the first play of the new quarter, Dalton found Bart Johnson for a 31-yard touchdown and a 21-0 lead.
TCU's next drive lasted only three plays -- a two-yard run by Wesley, a 43- yard reception by Skye Dawson, and a 17-yard scoring dash by Wesley with 10:38 left.
The Horned Frogs settled for a 37-yard field goal by Ross Evans on their next touch. The clock finally stopped TCU, which took the 31-0 lead into the break.
Matthew Tucker ran the ball in the end zone from five yards out to end the opening drive of the third quarter, and the Horned Frogs took a lot of time off the clock during their next march.
TCU started at its own nine with 5:26 left and scored less than a minute into the fourth quarter. Dalton completed a four-yard pass to Hicks for the 45- point lead, and the Horned Frogs cruised from there.
Game Notes
Dalton completed 14-of-17 passes to increase his season's completion percentage to 66.6. He had also thrown only six touchdowns through the first five games of the season...TCU leads the all-time series with Wyoming, 5-2...The Horned Frogs out-gained Wyoming by a 578-191 margin, and limited the Cowboys to eight first downs...Crum got his sixth career start, and first since 2008.
