Notre Dame TE Rudolph done for season

South Bend, IN (Sports Network) - Notre Dame starting tight end Kyle Rudolph will miss the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury that will require surgery, head coach Brian Kelly announced on Tuesday.

The junior, who has been bothered by the hamstring all season, re-aggravated the injury in last Saturday's 23-17 victory over Pittsburgh when the tendons tore off the bone. He is expected to be replaced by sophomore Tyler Eifert, although senior Mike Ragone could see more playing time as the No. 2 tight end on the depth chart.

Notre Dame (3-3) will host Western Michigan on Saturday.
