Mallett, playing through a bruised throwing shoulder, completed 27-of-44 passes for the Razorbacks (6-2, 3-2 SEC), who have won two straight since a loss to still-unbeaten Auburn.
Wright made six catches for 87 yards, while Knile Davis rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in a victory that was highlighted by a 555-153 yardage advantage.
Jonathan Krause rushed for a TD and Brandon Barden caught a score from Larry Smith for the Commodores (2-6, 1-4), losers of three in a row. Smith threw just 12 times, completing four for 25 yards.
The tide started to turn in the Razorbacks' favor when Rudell Crim picked off a tipped ball and returned it 19 yards to the Vandy 20-yard line early in the second quarter. Three plays later, Mallett found Wright in the middle of the end zone for a 15-yard score to give the hosts the lead, 20-14, with 11:20 to go in the frame.
After trading punts, Jerry Franklin stripped Smith at the one, and Vanderbilt recovered in the end zone to give Arkansas a safety.
Ray Lance took the free kick back 66 yards to the 25, and another 15-yard TD grab by Wright resulted in a 29-14 score at the 6:26 mark.
Zach Hocker added a 26-yard field goal for Arkansas just before the half, then hit a 27-yarder for the only points of the third quarter.
Davis' two-yard plunge in the opening minute of the fourth quarter made it 42-14, and Jerico Nelson returned a Jared Funk 39 yards for a score just over a minute later to seal the lopsided decision.
"This was a good win for us today," Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino said. "We made some mistakes early on in the first half, but we were able to shut them down in the second half. Overall, I was very pleased with how we played."
On Vanderbilt's second play from scrimmage, Warren Norman looked as if he was stopped behind the line of scrimmage before springing to the right and amassing 51 yards to the Arkansas 36. After a personal foul penalty, Krause took an end around 21 yards to paydirt for a 7-0 lead.
The Razorbacks answered with an eight-play, 78-yard drive, capped by a Mallet- to-D.J. Williams two-yard strike with 6:46 left in the first quarter.
The extra point was unsuccessful, however, and Vanderbilt scored another TD less than four minutes later, as Barden hauled in an eight-yard pass for a 14-6 game.
"The first quarter I thought we did an excellent job moving the ball, but after that we just started going downhill on offense," said Lewis.
Davis rushed for seven yards on 4th-and-1 to keep Arkansas' next drive going, then punched it over the goal line from two yards out on the fourth play of the second quarter.
Game Notes
Mallett broke his record of 408 yards set against Georgia last season...Arkansas wide receiver Greg Childs, who had five catches for 87 yards, was helped off the field in the fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury...Des Kitchings served as Vanderbilt's offensive coordinator, replacing Jimmy Kiser after the Commodores scored one touchdown the previous two weeks...Norman finished with 64 yards on 11 carries...Arkansas plays at South Carolina next week, while Vanderbilt hosts Florida.
