Quinn completed 27-of-37 passes for the Fighting Irish (5-1), who have won five straight games over the Cardinal. Jeff Samardzija hauled in seven receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown while John Carlson and Rhema McKnight also had TD receptions.
Trent Edwards completed just 7-of-13 passes for 68 yards for the Cardinal (0-6), who has failed to hold a single opponent under 30 points this season.
Anthony Kimble ran for 63 yards on 15 carries and also threw a touchdown pass while Kelton Lynn caught four balls for 86 yards and a TD.
The Irish took a quick 7-0 lead after a marathon-like 91-yard drive on their first possession. Quinn finished things by using play-action to find a wide open Samardzija for an eight-yard score with just under eight minutes to go in the opening quarter.
Stanford answered with a long drive of its own before stalling at the Notre Dame three-yard line. Aaron Zagory's 19-yard chip shot got the Cardinal on the board and made it 7-3 heading to the second quarter.
Both offenses struggled in the second quarter until the Fighting Irish got back on track late . Quinn capped a nine-play, 68-yard march by throwing a strike to McKnight on a slant pattern. The receiver did the rest as he darted into the end zone to give Notre Dame a 14-3 edge with just 29 seconds to go before intermission.
The Irish distanced themselves in the third quarter. First, Walker got loose for a 32-yard TD run and Carl Gioia then connected on a 35-yard field goal to put Notre Dame on top, 24-3, heading to the final quarter.
The Stanford offense finally made some noise in the fourth quarter when Kimble found Lynn on a halfback option for a 57-yard touchdown.
Notre Dame quickly responded on their next possession. The Irish went 77 yards on 12 plays culminating with Quinn's third touchdown toss of the day. This time, the Heisman hopeful found Carlson from one-yard out to make it 31-10 with just over nine minutes remaining.
