Zabransky finished 11-of-18 for 184 yards passing and also ran for 54 yards. Ian Johnson ran for 92 yards and one TD for the Broncos (5-0, 2-0 WAC), who dominated in every aspect of the game.
Louisiana Tech (1-4, 0-1 WAC) starting quarterback Zac Champion struggled as he completed 14-of-29 pass attempts for 135 yards with one interception.
Patrick Jackson ran for 70 yards on 15 carries and had one TD for Tech. He also racked up 103 yards on four kickoff returns.
The Bulldogs won the toss and elected to kick off, but on the first play of the game they ended up with the ball anyway. Bra Ostreicher launched a 65-yard kick and the Broncos' Quinton Jones returned it 16 yards before fumbling the ball. Tech's Justin Johnson recovered and four plays later, Jackson rushed right and found the end zone, putting Tech up 7-0.
Almost nothing went right for the Bulldogs after this point, while Boise State showed why they are one of the top teams in the country.
On the Broncos first possession, Zabransky marched the team 76 yards on nine plays, before taking the ball into the end zone himself for the two-yard score that tied the game up at 7-7.
After a Tech punt, Boise State came right back down the field. Ian Johnson eventually ran in for the two-yard score, capping a 28-yard drive to make it 14-7 Broncos with 3:03 left in the first quarter.
In the second quarter it was Boise State's offense once again making some noise as they went to the air. Jerard Rabb pulled in a 19-yard pass to start things off and on the next play, Zabransky hit Drisan James with a 42-yard pass. Three plays later the quarterback recorded his second rushing TD of the game on a quarterback sneak, and Boise had a commanding 21-7 lead.
The Broncos weren't done with their offensive outburst. After blocking a Danny Horwedel field goal attempt for the Bulldogs, they added another score on an eight-play, 70-yard drive with 6:10 left in the second quarter. Zabransky hooked up with Rabb on a five-yard TD pass, making it 28-7, but after the play Rabb was hit with two personal foul penalties and ejected from the game.
Anthony Montgomery tacked on a 30-yard field goal with 1:32 left in the first half to extend the Boise State lead to 31-7.
The Broncos opened the third quarter in the same dominating fashion, marching 59 yards on four plays before Zabransky found Brett Denton with a 24-yard TD pass to make it 38-7 with the clock at 9:13.
After another Tech punt, Montgomery's 39-yard field goal attempt six plays into the next Boise State drive also hit its mark, making it 41-7.
The Broncos' defense finally got in on the act, as Marty Tadman picked off Champion's pass at the BSU two and sprinted 98 yards for the score and a 48-7 lead.
Boise State's offense got their final TD of the game on a 15-play, 80-yard drive capped off by Denton's one-yard run with 4:11 left in the fourth.
Louisiana Tech's Daniel Porter found the end zone on a 10-yard draw play with 34 seconds left to round out the scoring.
