Glenn, Jackson lead No. 22 Nebraska past Iowa State

Ames, IA (Sports Network) - Cody Glenn ran for 149 yards and two touchdowns and Brandon Jackson tallied 120 yards and one score rushing to lead 22nd- ranked Nebraska over Iowa State 28-14.

Zac Taylor ended 17-of-21 for 131 yards with a touchdown for the Cornhuskers (5-1, 2-0 Big 12), who have won three straight since its lone setback of the season.

Bret Meyer went 18-of-39 for 262 yards with a touchdown and interception passing for the Cyclones (3-3, 0-2), who have lost three of their last four contests.

Meyer also ran for a score and Todd Blythe had six catches for 96 yards and a TD for ISU, which hung with Nebraska early but couldn't stay with the club and had a six-game home win streak halted.

Glenn ended the Cornhuskers' first drive with a three-yard TD run, giving his club the early lead.

Iowa State tied it early in the second quarter, as Meyer ran in from one yard out to end an 11-play, 57-yard drive that bridged the first two quarters.

Nebraska, though, went ahead for good on its ensuing possession. Jackson capped the 11-play, 68-yard march with a one-yard scoring run. The key play of the drive was an 11-yard run by Jackson on third-and-three that brought the ball down to the ISU one-yard line.

The Cornhuskers added one more touchdown right before the end of the half as Taylor hooked up with Maurice Purify for a 27-yard TD. Nebraska started the possession on its own 40 with 1:22 left and the touchdown came with just three seconds left until the break.

The second half went by without much action. Nebraska got its lone score of the half when Glenn ran in from five yards out with 1:13 left.

Meyer completed the game's scoring with a 13-yard pass TD Todd Blythe with just six seconds on the clock.
