Demerick Chancellor had 114 rushing yards and a score, C.J. Spiller added two rushing touchdowns and Will Proctor went 8-for-9 with 151 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers (6-1), who have won their last five games.
"I told the team tonight, don't go play Temple, just go play football," said Clemson coach Tommy Bowden. "They needed to just come out and take care of business."
Vaughn Charlton went 13-for-25 with 110 yards and a touchdown and Tim Brown had 23 carries for 121 yards for the Owls (0-7), who have been outscored 308-50 on the season. They extended the nation's longest losing streak to 19 games.
"That's obviously a team that's too big, too fast and too tough for us right now at this stage," said Temple coach Al Golden. "I don't think our kids quit and we're going to keep preaching to them the little things that we have to do."
Temple took an early 3-0 lead as Travis Shelton returned the opening kickoff 53 yards and a 30-yard run by Shelton helped to set up a Jake Brownell 27-yard field goal less than two minutes in.
Alas, the lead was short lived as Jacoby Ford returned the ensuing kickoff 50 yards, and four plays later Davis punched the ball into the end zone from eight yards out to make it 7-3.
After an Owls turnover on their following possession, the Tigers again kept the ball on the ground and on the fifth play Spiller's one-yard touchdown run made it a 14-3 game a little with a little over seven minutes expired.
Clemson again stopped Temple and on its first passing play of the game, Proctor connected with Thomas Hunter for 53 yards. Two plays later Davis' three-yard touchdown run made it a 21-3 game.
On the third play of the second quarter Spiller took the ball into the end zone from 15 yards out to stake the Tigers to a 28-3 lead.
Clemson continued to pour it on and made it a 35-3 game thanks to a six-yard touchdown pass from Proctor to Alex Pearson a little over six minutes into the second.
Davis' 64-yard rushing score and a 55-yard touchdown pass from Proctor to Ford gave the Tigers a 49-3 lead at the half.
Clemson outgained Temple, 371-88, in the first 30 minutes.
The Tigers scored on their first possession of the second half when Cullen Harper connected with Andrew Diomande, who fumbled the ball at the five-yard line, but Nelson Faerber recovered it in the end zone for a 56-3 lead.
Chancellor completed a 12-play, 82-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run to give Clemson a 63-3 lead with one minute left in the third.
The Owls made it a 63-9 game in the fourth when Charlton connected with Steve Maneri for a 30-yard score. They went for the two-point conversion, but failed.
