Baylor stunned the Longhorns on its first offensive play of the game. Bell found Shelton for a 67-yard touchdown pass to put the Bears on top, 7-0, with nearly 12 1/2 minutes left in the opening quarter.
On its next possession, Baylor made it 10-0 after Ryan Havens connected on a 27-yard field goal.
Texas finally woke up in the second quarter and took over the contest with four consecutive touchdowns. McCoy hooked up with Pittman on a 25-yard score and followed that with a 18-yard TD toss to Finley that gave the Longhorns their first lead, 14-10.
Matt Melton got the defense in on the scoring parade when he picked off Bell and took it back 35 yards to paydirt. McCoy then capped the explosive quarter with his third TD pass of the frame, a two-yarder to Ullman with just 28 seconds left in the half.
Baylor tried to hang in during the third quarter with some trickery. Wide receiver Dominiq Zeigler got the football and threw back to Bell for a 17-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 11, 28-17.
The Longhorns recovered quickly, however, and McCoy went to the air again. This time, the Freshman found Sweed for a 19-yard TD to put Texas back in control, 35-17, with just over five minutes to go in the third quarter.
McCoy kept making the Bears pay on the Longhorns' next possession. This time, Pittman hooked up with the quarterback on a 62-yard score to make it 42-17.
The fireworks weren't over there. Mosley capped the scoring in the quarter by scampering 56 yards for a TD and making it a 42-24 game heading to the fourth quarter.
Texas kept pouring it on in the fourth quarter. McCoy's final touchdown pass, a 50-yarder to Sweed with just over six minutes left, Rober Killebrew 31-yard fumble return for a touchdown and Henry Melton two-yard TD run made it 63-24 with 4:51 on the clock.
