Missouri is now 7-1 this year and 3-1 in the Big 12. Kansas State is 4-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
Missouri scored 34 unanswered points after Kansas State posted its first touchdown in the first quarter. The Wildcats' Zach Diles returned a fumble 35- yards for the team's only score of the first half.
The Tigers got on the scoreboard with a 30-yard field goal by Jeff Wolfert late in the opening quarter. The scoring drive was 14 plays for 78 yards.
Daniel tossed a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter, the first to Martin Rucker for 14 yards that finished a 10 play, 99-yard drive.
Daniel then found Will Franklin on a 52-yard scoring pass with 2:40 remaining. That touchdown capped off a five-play, 87-yard drive as Missouri led 17-7 at the half.
The third quarter was dominated by Missouri as the Tigers registered two touchdowns and a field goal. Daniel connected with Tommy Sanders on a three- yard score with 11:02 left in the quarter.
With 6:50 remaining Wolfert made a 20-yard field. That followed a 19-yard interception return by Darnel Terrell.
The Tigers' defense then scored on a 41-yard fumble recovery by David Overstreet with 6:14 remaining.
Kansas State found the end zone a second time on a 15-yard run by Leon Patton. His score concluded a nine-play, 80-yard drive. The drive was highlighted by a 24-yard run by quarterback Josh Freeman to the Missouri 29-yard line.
Missouri's Daniel tossed his fourth touchdown pass of the day to Chase Coffman with 12:37 left in the game.
Kansas State got one final touchdown on a nine-yard run by James Johnson with 2:53 remaining. During the 11-play, 69-yard drive, Johnson had a 20-yard run to the Tiger 45-yard line. He finished the game with 20 carries and 127 yards.
Game Notes
Coffman caught six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown. Franklin had 87 yards receiving with a touchdown on five catches...Patton had 18 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown...Missouri has won eight straight home games, including all five this season...Missouri owns a 56-31-5 series advantage over KSU, although the Wildcats won the previous 13 meetings from 1993-05...The Tigers last win in the series was a 27-14 triumph in Columbia in 1992.
