LSU, Alabama remain 1-2 in BCS poll

Irving, TX (Sports Network) - LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma State were once again the top three teams in the BCS poll released Sunday.

No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama, both 8-0 this season, are coming off bye weeks and will meet Saturday night in a rare 1-2 matchup in Tuscaloosa.

The Tigers had the top spot again with .9734 average points, while the Crimson Tide were at .9591.

Oklahoma State (8-0) is still the No. 1 team according to the computer rankings, while LSU tops the Harris Interactive and USA Today polls.

Stanford (8-0) and Boise State (7-0) round out the top five. Oklahoma (7-1) climbed three spots to sixth and was followed by Arkansas (7-1), Oregon (7-1), South Carolina (7-1) and Nebraska (7-1) to finish the top 10.

Coming off a loss at Georgia Tech, Clemson (8-1) fell six placed to 11th this week. Kansas State (7-1) was also knocked from the ranks of the unbeatens by Oklahoma and dropped from eighth to 14th.

The BCS system, in place since 1998, is computed by averaging the percentage totals of the Harris Interactive poll, USA Today poll and computer rankings. The top two teams at the end of the season will square off in the national championship game.
