Kelso Sturgeon has been a professional handicapper for 40 years and has a deep understanding of all facets of the game, be it football, basketball, baseball or horse racing. He's worked as a football scout in the SEC and studied under Hall of Fame coaches like Alabama's Bear Bryant, winner of five national titles and Hank Stram of the Kansas City Chiefs, who won the 1970 Super Bowl. He's been a Regional Sports Editor for the Associated Press, worked as a successful jockey agent and authored several books teaching people how to be a handicapper, including the bestseller, THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO SPORTS BETTING. Kelso also understands that to be a successful handicapper means knowing the business of gambling, and to that end he is personal friends with most of the big linesmakers in Las Vegas and gets the daily scoop on what is happening on the other side of the counter. There is no one better qualifed to be your personal handicapper than Kelso Sturgeon.

For the first time since September 7, 1986, a stretch of 263 games, Lehigh (1-5) failed to put up any points.
Yale scored the game's only touchdown when blocking back Paul Rice dashed 40 yards early in the third quarter on a fake punt. The Bulldogs improved to 3-2, but Yale's wins have been against Georgetown, Dartmouth and Lehigh squads with a combined 1-17.
Still, the mood was far worse on the Lehigh sidelines.
"It's embarrassing for me," said Lehigh coach Andy Coen. "I don't know if you can get any worse than that."
Twenty-three years later, Lehigh could be facing its worst season in recent memory. There are a lot of reasons for the poor start, but the biggest is extremely poor offensive production.
Prior to today's game, Lehigh ranked 86th nationally in total offense and rushing and 82nd in scoring.
The lack of production is somewhat startling to Coen, who has spent is entire career as an offensive coach and thought the Mountain Hawks would have a dangerous passing this season after concluding spring football.
"It's that type of year right now," said Coen, who hasn't won less than five games in a season in his three years at Lehigh. "We are just not in sync offensively."
Whatever the cause of the offensive woes, the unit hit rock bottom against Yale.
The Mountain Hawks recorded just 197 yards of total offense and just 60 yards through the air. Yale was even worse offensively with 189 yards of total offense and only 86 yards passing as Brook Hart completed just 12-of-31 passes.
Lehigh quarterbacks Chris Lum and J.B. Clark combined to go 8-of-28 passing for 60 yards and an interception, as neither ever picked up a shred of momentum.
"They both have had three games to start basically, said Coen. "But the performance hasn't been good."
The quarterback play has taken away from the effort the Lehigh defense has shown. The unit ranked fourth nationally in passing defense and 29th in total defense coming into the game.
"If you don't put both sides of the ball together, you won't win games," said cornerback Jarard Cribbs, who tallied three pass breakups and an interception against the Bulldogs. "We need to play with enthusiasm and our emotions on our sleeves."
Cribbs and the rest of the defense has been doing just that the whole season, trying some way to motivate the struggling offense. However it hasn't work, causing the defense to become frustrated and overworked.
"It's difficult as a unit for us to not close out games.," said Cribbs. "I'm frustrated because we didn't win the game."
Coen knows his players are warriors and knows his enthusiastic defense can motivate the rest of his squad.
"I always feel the defense sets the tone for a football team. I credit our kids. They work hard every day and they compete. The offense is trying. It's just not happening."
With only one more non-conference matchup before playing their final four games against Patriot League opponents, Lehigh and Cribbs know the gravity of the situation going forward.
"Every game from here on out is a championship game," said the junior cornerback. "If the Patriot League championship doesn't fire us up, I don't know what will."
