Tennessee State's Brown out for the season

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Tennessee State running back Preston Brown will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee during last Saturday's game against North Carolina A&T.

The injury occurred in the third quarter of TSU's 37-7 win. He left the field after hurting the knee, then returned for one play and ran for 43 yards before exiting the contest for good.

Tests this week revealed the severity of the injury. The senior is scheduled to have surgery next week.

Brown is currently the third-leading rusher in the Football Championship Subdivision with an average of 152 yards through five games this season. He has 760 rushing yards with six touchdowns and twice topped the 200-yard mark.
