| Kelso Sturgeon worked as agent for four truly outstanding jockeys. Vincent Bracciale Jr, Arnold Iliescu, Carlos Barrera and Alberto Delgado rode a collective 12,268 winners. He represented them and was responsible for putting them on those winning horses and entering them into those races. Through this experience he learned what it takes to get to the winner circle, and has been doing precisely that in his 38 years as a professional handicapper. Kelso delivers his clients thoroughly handicapped selections each racing day from Saratoga and Del Mar. |
I KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN A RACE AND I CAN PREDICT... WHEN THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!
This Is Your Invitation To Join Me Each Racing Day At Saratoga & Del Mar For My Best Bet Plays Of The Day
Winning at the race track is not an easy task, in spite of what you may hear from fly-by-night handicappers and other average bettors whose words are more grandiose than their bankroll. I do not pretend to have all the answers, but there's one thing I promise you: I enter every race prepared and from a position of strength.
From the insights I traded with men like Vincent Bracciale Jr, Arnold Iliescu, Carlos Barrera and Alberto Delgado, I learned exactly how to find the right horse, with the right jockey in the right race. These were the things I had to learn to properly serve my clients and now as a handicapper, it's second nature to me.
I have always had respect for horseplayers and the effort and work they put in trying to beat the game. Unfortunately, most are not successful, and for one basic reason--they are betting horses under one set of rules while the races are being run under another.
The real rules of the game are hidden from the general public, because horse racing is an insider's game - a tight-knit absolutely closed fraternity that has no intention of ever letting you or any other outsider in on what is actually going on. Remember all the times you've looked at the PPs and found a horse that seemingly couldn't lose? The figure sheets had him on top and said he could not lose. But he did. None of the reasons for his failure were in the past performance lines and they were certainly not the fault of the bettor who had done all his homework. But you must realize that what is available to you as a player and what you see in the past performance lines in the Daily Racing Form are not sufficient to beat the game over any extended period of time.
A so-called "can't-miss" horse can fall short for of any number of reasons. Perhaps the trainer doesn't really want him in the race? Think that doesn't happen? Then you haven't spent enough time in my world. It is the racing secretary who is all-powerful and may have wanted the horse in a race for financial reasons. But if a trainer doesn't want a horse in a race, that horse is simply not going to run its best. It can be as basic as holding back a dose of Lasix. In this same vein, sore horses, or horses that all at once developed problems, are forced to run every single day, even after their trainers tried to scratch them. The track veterinarian, not wanting to reap the wrath of track management, will make these trainers run these horses. And, again, you bet on them without knowing the horses are ailing and the trainers are not even trying.
THERE'S NO MAGIC IN THIS-- JUST KNOWING WHAT YOU'RE DOING…
As I said, there is no magic in all of this--no inside information. My winning has its very foundation my understanding and knowledge of the horse and the race-and what is needed to win. And as the profitable meets of Saratoga and Del Mar are heating up here in this month of August, I've been getting the money. At Del Mar, I am releasing the winner 34 percent of the time at an average payoff of $8.31 based on $2 bets. That includes winners like...
Fantastic Pick WON $18.60 Silent Soul WON $13.60 Stroppy WON $11.60 Cactus Jane WON $14.80
And I tacked on a $62.40 trifecta on Harmonious, Perfect Shirl and Evening Jewel in last Saturday's prestigious Del Mar Oaks!
At Saratoga, the picture is even shinier! I'm giving clients the winner in 44 percent of all races and at a board-busting payoff of $10.92. Here's just a few recent examples...
Miss Match WON $9.40
Trix In The City WON $37.00!
Telling WON $22.00
Warrior's Poet WON $10.00
Lubash WON $6.40
And I intend to do a lot more moneymaking in the final two weeks of both meets. Saratoga closes on Labor Day, September 6 and Del Mar runs until September 8.
