The Playoffs Are DIFFERENT

Kelso's Advanced Sports Betting: The Playoffs are DIFFERENT!

As I was watching NBA Playoff action the past few days...it struck me that I need to make it a point of emphasis here in my College of Advanced Sports Betting and Handicapping that the playoffs are DIFFERENT than the regular season. There are some skill sets in the postseason that become much more prominent when high stakes pressure is involved.

This has been most clear with the Washington Wizards so far. Paul Pierce is still a GAMEBREAKER in the postseason! Because he's old, he has to pace himself through the regular season. Now...with everything on the line...you really see his experience and clutch shooting ability come through. Pierce in particularly, and Washington as a whole, is clearly much better "right now" than they were during the bulk of the regular season. The playoffs are different than the regular season...and that helps emphasize what Washington does best when its key players are healthy.

Kelso's Advanced Sports Betting: Handicapping Round Two

The NBA Playoffs will be transitioning to Round Two this weekend. As I write this, we already know that the Golden State Warriors will face the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday in the West. The other three series will be locked in soon...as Houston, Washington, and Cleveland await the winners of San Antonio/LAC, Atlanta/Brooklyn, and Chicago/Milwaukee respectively. If you're reading this on Friday, the picture may have clarified even more.

I'm not going to talk specifics because I have to protect possible releases for my clients. But, I will give all of you students of my College of Advanced Sports Betting and Handicapping some guidelines to follow.

National League Game Capsules

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryce Harper homered in his first three at-bats and drove in five runs to lead the Washington Nationals over the Miami Marlins 7-5 in the rubber match of a three-game series on Wednesday. Harper's first career three-homer game included a pair of solo shots and a two-run blast. He had an RBI groundout in his fourth at-bat as Washington won for the seventh time in its last nine games. Denard Span and Ian Desmond each had two hits and scored a pair of runs for the Nationals, who moved within one game of .500 this season. Yunel Escobar added two RBI for Washington, which received a strong start from pitcher Max Scherzer until he hit a hiccup in the eighth inning. Scherzer (2-3) got the win despite allowing five runs on 10 hits over seven-plus frames. He struck out 10 without walking a batter to end a personal two-game losing streak. Giancarlo Stanton blasted a three-run, eighth-inning homer for the Marlins, who have dropped three of four after winning four straight games. Dee Gordon had three hits to increase his major league-leading average to .430 and his league-leading hit total to 49. Martin Prado went 3- for-5 for Miami.
