Sunday College Football Preview

200 Unit College Kickoff Classic Wins with Georgia (-22.5) over Vanderbilt 30-6!

The hits just keep on comin'! College Football's first full weekend of action really heated up on Saturday with a grand total of 57 games ... but you gotta wait till Sunday night to find out about the country's fourth-ranked squad (and the Big 12 Conference favorite) - the Oklahoma Sooners.

Sure, the Sooners have banged out back-to-back Heisman Trophy winners the past two years in quarterbacks Baker Mayfield (2017) and Kyler Murray (2018).Plus, OU's won a grand total of 46 games the past four years but winning in the College Football Playoffs has been elusive: Losses to Clemson (2015 Orange Bowl), to Georgia in double-overtime (2017 Rose Bowl) and to Alabama (2018 Orange Bowl) have left a sour taste in Boomer Sooner mouths. Maybe this season will end differently for Oklahoma - but it begins here.

On Sunday Nite, it's ... HOUSTON at #4 OKLAHOMA -- 7:30 p.m. ET, ABC
Mucho storylines here in Norman where one-time Alabama QB Jalen Hurts takes the reigns for the Sooners - note that he's one of the top six choices to win this year's Heisman Trophy, according to the all-knowing Las Vegas folks - while there's a new sheriff in town for the Houston Cougars: Former West Virginia boss-man Dana Holgorsen would like his squad to be a giant-killer here as the visiting Cougars are 23-point underdogs and hoping QB D'Eriq King (36 TD passes, 14 TD runs last year) can keep the Coogs in the hunt here.
Spread Note - Oklahoma is a solid 16-9 ATS (against the spread) at home the past four years and the Sooners have covered six of their last nine non-conference affairs.
