5th-Ranked Oklahoma (8-1) And 6th-ranked TCU (8-1) Meet Saturday In 50-Unit College Game of Week

By Kelso Sturgeon

I admit I use the word, "showdown", far too much but that word says it all in college football this weekend. It's get-in or get-out time for many of the teams ranked in the College Football Championship poll that will determine what teams will compete in a Final Four playoff to decide which wears the crown. The showdowns begin Friday night when 9th-ranked Washington (8-1), a Final Four team last season, meets Stanford. And then all hell breaks loose.

On Saturday #7 Miami (8-0), one of five remaining unbeaten teams, hosts #3 Notre Dame (8-1) that has lost only to #1 Georgia by a single point, 20-19. A win keeps Miami in the race; a Notre Dame loss dooms the Fighting Irish.

Then we have #1 Georgia (9-0) at #10 Auburn (7-2) for a game that ranks as one of the most bitter rivalries in the Deep South, just a shade behind Auburn-Alabama and LSU-Alabama. The Georgia Bulldogs have won and covered in their last three meetings with Auburn. However, it must be noted Auburn is at the top of its game and that the Tigers two losses came at #4 Clemson, 14-6, and at #24 LSU, 27-23. Anyone who doubts Auburn will fire its best shot of the season in this one does not know SEC football.

Other thoughts...

--UCLA (4-5) absolutely quit last week at Utah, losing 48-17, throwing in the towel early in the second half. I do not know what it means but the Bruins won't be getting my money for the rest of the season.

--Ohio State (7-2) and Penn State (7-2) took themselves out of the championship race last weekend when both lost as favorites, proving again an extremely tough game-a contest in which teams both teams leave it all on the field-do not quickly recover physical, mentally or emotional. As you know Ohio State beat Penn State 39-38 the week before and had little left a week later. The Buckeyes lost at Iowa, 55-24, as a 21-point favorite, while Penn State, a 10-point choice at Michigan State, lost 27-24. Watch them both win big this week.

--#2 Alabama (9-0) is not as good right now as it was in the first month of the season. Not saying they will lose at Mississippi State but I am ducking the issue there.

(These Selections Were Made A Few Days In Advance I Reserve The Right To Change Them if Any Later Situation Occurs - Home Team In CAPS)

SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS (6-3) -7 by 17 over Florida Gators (3-5)-South Carolina is one of the most underrated teams in the country, has a defense that has become as tough as iron and should dominate the worst team Florida has put on the field in decades. Florida has lost four straight and in last two games has given up a combined total of 87 points while scoring 23.

Duke Blue Devils (4-5) -3 by 9-10 over ARMY BLACK KNIGHTS (7-2)-No question this is a good Army team but the Knights are taking quite a step up in class against a Duke team that is much better than its record. The Blue Devils have lost 5 straight after opening 4-0 and come into this off the benefit of a bye week that enabled them to put it all back together. Duke 5-1 in their last six games off a bye week, is 9-2 in its last 11 meetings with Army and is 19-2 in its last 21 games against non-conference opponents.

Tulane Green Wave (3-6) -5.5 by 14 over EAST CAROLINA PIRATES (2-7)-Tulane arrives in Greenville facing the reality it must win out to become bowl eligible and that run should begin today against a disorganized East Carolina team that has absolutely no defense, giving up and average of 566.4 yards and 46.6 points per game. It also is a big-time coaching mismatch in which Tulane has a giant edge.

NFL-College Football TV Triple-Header Set To Go 3-0 Tonight
Win A 25-Unit NFL Play On Seahawks-Cardinals Plus Two College Football Bets On Two Teams That Are Primed To Get It Done

The Seattle Seahawks (5-3), a team that did everything wrong in its last game, a 17-14 home loss to the Washington Redskins, is in Arizona to take on the Cardinals (4-4), a team much better than its record. When I say Seattle did everything wrong in its last game I mean just that-three missed field goals, a season-high 16 penalties, and that was just part of the problem. As for Arizona it is of note the Cardinals are 6-1-1 in their last eight games against teams from the NFC West. The Seattle-Arizona game presents its challenges but a strong read between the lines found the winner and I will be releasing this game as a 25-unit play. In addition to this I will be releasing two of the three college games (see schedule below)-one as a 15-unit bet, the other at 10 units. You can win all three Chairman' Football Club Games for just $25, charged to your major credit card or to Pay Pal.

Tonight's College Schedule
Ball State Cardinals (2-7) at Northern Illinois Huskies (6-3)
North Carolina Tar Heels (1-8) at Pittsburgh Panthers (4-5)
Georgia Southern Eagles (0-8) at Appalachian State Mountaineers (5-4)

Win 50-Unit PAC-12 Showdown Grudge Battle Friday Night
The 9th-Ranked Washington Huskies (8-1) Hope To Improve Championship Playoff Hopes Against Always Tough Stanford (6-3)

Stanford is one of the few universities in the country where football players are required to read, write and sign their name. The place is tough to get into (last year 43,997 applied, 1,739 gained admission) and despite its rigorous academic standing finds enough blue-chip football players to compete at the highest level. Few games against the Cardinal are walk in the park. This brings us to tonight's PAC-12 contest that finds the 9th-ranked Washington Huskies (8-1) in Pal Alto to take on a Stanford team that in its last game-at 19th-ranked Washington State-lost a heart-stopper, 24-21. Washington, which has lost only at Arizona State, 13-7, will be looking to improve its college football rankings and make its second straight trip to the Final four that determines the national championship. Washington is a 5.5-point favorite tonight and knows nothing comes easy against a Stanford team that backs up from nobody. The game should present football at its best and I am confident I have a 50-unit winner in this one. Win it with me for just $50, charged to your major credit card or to Pay Pal.

Big 12 Battle Is My 50-Unit Game Of Week Saturday Night
5th-Ranked Oklahoma (8-1) And 6th-ranked TCU (8-1) Meet Saturday In 50-Unit College Game of Week Where Everything Is On The Line

Yes, it's a major challenge to pick the winner of tonight's Big 12 battle between #5 Oklahoma (8-1) and #6 TCU (8-1). I usually avoid games between two talented powerhouses but found an edge in this one that is so strong I could not ignore it. They have three things in common-both teams are loaded with Blue Chip talent, both are 8-1 and both suffered their only loss at the hands of Iowa State.
The Oklahoma Sooners lost at home to Iowa State, 38-31, as a 30-point favorite wile TCU fell at Iowa State, 14-7, as a 7-point favorite. On the line tonight is the inside track to the Big 12 championship game and a chance to move up in the rankings that will determine the four teams that will compete for the national championship. It does not get bigger than this. The Sooners are 6.5-point favorites over the Horned Frogs for this nationally-televised (FOX) Saturday night contest in what should be a classic rumble between two teams with contrasting styles. Oklahoma is all offense, averaging 608.2 yards and 45 points per game. TCU is all defense, giving up 284.1 yards and 13.9 points per game. The bottom line: Oklahoma has the number one ranked offense in the country while TCU has the 6th-ranked defense that is ranked #1 against the run, giving up just 69.7 yards per game. Both teams are at the top of their games. The Sooners come into this game averaging 51.0 points in their last three games. TCU has excelled in its specialty in its last four games, giving up an average of 188 yards of offense and 6.8 points. Something has to give in this college classic and I know what it is, and that is why I am releasing this game as my 50-unit College Football Game of the Week. Get on board and win it with me for just $50, charged to your major credit card or to Pay Pal.

Another 25-Unit College Stunner Wins Again Saturday
Last Saturday I Stepped Outside My Comfort Zone And Released Winless Baylor As A Blowout Winner Over Kansas 38-9

I have a basic rule of thumb in handicapping and that is one never asks a "bad" team to win a bet for them. Then there are my two universal rules-(1) you can do everything right and still be wrong and (2) there is an exception to every rule. Thus Baylor, a team far better than its record against a 1-7 Kansas team that is one of the worst teams in recent football history. For the record, this was not a shot in the dark. I had seen Baylor play four games this season and knew it was handicapped by having to use so many freshmen (as many as 17 a game-some starters). Most of all it was a team with talent as it showed in losses to Oklahoma by eight points and West Virginia by 2. In other words, this actually was not a bad Baylor team, just one that was by fate winless. We have just such a team on today's schedule and I am again releasing it as a 25-unit Chairman's Football Club play and you can win it with me for just $25, charged to your major credit card or to Pay Pal.

Three Stunning Bounce-Back Plays Win Saturday
There Are Numerous Teams On The College Football Schedule And Three of Them Are Standout Bets To Get The Cover And The Cash

The bounce-back element is alive and well in college football and has produced many winners this season. To earn the tag of a "bounce-back" candidate two requirements must be met-(1) a team must have lost its last game as a favorite and (2) must have the ability to come right back and get the job done in dominating fashion. We have three such qualifying teams today and I am releasing all of them to my Best Bets Football Club members as solid 15-unit plays. You can go 3-0 with me today for just $15, charged to your major credit card or to Pay Pal.
