Kelso Sturgeon's "Winning Baseball Menu"

It is no accident Major League Baseball is the favorite sport of almost all the highrollers of the world - and I mean the "world" Betting American baseball is so popular in the Asian countries it is the only sport other than horse racing, soccer and cricket bookmakers handle.

Its world-wide popularity comes from the fact one has only to win the game to win the bet. There are no point spreads involved and all wagers are offered on a money line basis. For instance, let us say the favored Chicago Cubs are playing the Cincinnati Reds and that the Cubs are a -140 on the money line. That means, if you bet the Cubs, you must lay $140 to win $100, or $14 to win $10. If you like the underdog Reds, who are +130, you will have to bet $100 to win $130. It is as simple as that.

Kelso's Advanced Sports Betting: Handicapping the NBA Playoffs

As promised, I'm back to talk about handicapping the NBA Playoffs. The next several weeks will be very lucrative for serious handicappers who have been studying the players, teams, and head coaches all season (and for multiple seasons). But, even if you're just now getting into the NBA after enjoying March Madness, there are ways to position yourself for success.

We start with my classic fundamentals:

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Jose Abreu and Adam LaRoche each homered and drove in four runs to lead the way in the Chicago White Sox' 12-3 rout of the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. The White Sox handed the surging Tigers only their second loss in 11 games this season behind a 17-hit barrage. Abreu's grand slam off Anibal Sanchez highlighted a seven-run fourth inning, while LaRoche socked a three-run shot in the third. Melky Cabrera collected four hits and two RBI in five at-bats for Chicago, with Abreu and LaRoche both finishing a triple shy of a cycle. The prolific hitting display was supported by a quality start from Chris Sale (2-0), who struck out six while holding Detroit's potent bats to two runs and four hits over six innings. Sanchez (1-2) was battered for nine runs and nine hits before being lifted with one out in the fourth. J.D. Martinez had a solo homer for the Tigers, while Miguel Cabrera and Nick Castellanos recorded RBI singles in defeat.
